Frigoríficos Rosa de los Vientos awarded with the ‘silver’ prize at the ‘Excellence in Innovation Awards for Rural Women’
Frigoríficos Rosa de los Vientos has been awarded with the ‘silver’ prize at the “Excellence in Innovation Awards for Rural Women” in the ‘Excellence in innovation in the fishing or aquaculture activity’ category.
The awards are organised annually by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to give visibility to the work of rural women in the diversification of economic activity and entrepreneurial actions. On 13 October, the Managing Director of Frigoríficos Rosa de los Vientos, Pilar Otero, will receive the award from Minister Luis Planas.
In this 2022 edition, the work of 13 initiatives for the promotion of women in rural areas were honoured and three prizes were awarded in each of the four categories:
- “Excellence in innovation in agricultural activity”,
- “Excellence in innovation in fishing or aquaculture activity”,
- “Excellence in innovation in the diversification of economic activity in rural areas” and
- “Excellence in communication”.
‘O PULPEIRO’ OCTOPUS FUMET
Our new product, “Octopus fumet”, was one of the reasons for winning the award. It is a Galician octopus cooking water that is packaged and marketed under our “O PULPEIRO” trademark. The product does not contain preservatives, colouring agents or gluten.
Frigoríficos Rosa de los Vientos has been committed from the beginning to basing its activity on two main pillars: innovation and product quality. Thanks to this innovation, we have been successfully launching different types of products on to the market, such as our frozen octopus croquettes, octopus ice cream and the aforementioned octopus fumet.
